Description
We need an ICD yard manager who is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a yard or storage facility. They ensure that all equipment and materials are properly stored, maintained, and accounted for at all times. They may also be tasked with hiring and training new employees, scheduling shifts, and ensuring that everyone is working safely and following company policies. Responsibilities: • Coordinate with and supervise all department activities (i.e., operations, maintenance, personnel, and transportation) • Ensure operating expenses are consistent with the facility’s budgetary and fiscal performance goals • Manage perpetual yard inventory on a daily basis • Manage and retain yard personnel • Manage and maintain positive relations with the public (i.e., resolution of problems) • Maintain a clean work area during and at the end of the shift • Other duties as required to ensure yard runs efficiently • Report any Fraudulent Activity • Commitment to safety through actions and behaviors is expected • Regular and timely attendance is essential Qualifications: • Effective communication skills/customer service skills • Working understanding of scrap, operations, transportation, and pricing • Solid supervisory skills, strong interpersonal skills, and basic math skills • High school diploma • Previous supervisory/management experience • Work safely in a manufacturing environment that utilizes audible alarms and signals • Effectively communicate using radios and telephones in a manufacturing environment • Demonstrate visual recognition of workplace hazards • Read and comprehend labels Experience: Minimum 2 years experience as a Yard Manager.
