Description

1. **Performance Management** Participate in the continuous review and improvement of the Performance Management Scheme to inculcate a culture of performance within the Bank. i. Recommend to HoHR changes aimed at improving the Bank’s Performance Management scheme to meet changing business needs. ii. Implement the performance management scheme (and any changes in it) by providing training and coaching to staff in the writing of their Performance Contracts. iii. Liaise with departmental heads to ensure effective and timely appraisal of all staff (performance reviews should be ongoing, with formal appraisals being in June and December of each year).  Collection and collation of performance appraisals  Comprise a HR Review Committee  Prepare proposals for bonuses and salary review iv. Liaise with Heads to implementing a career and succession planning matrix for every department. v. Generate proposals /facilitate staff rotations and transfers. vi. Generate proposals/participate in review of recommendations for staff promotions. 2. **Training Administration** i. Liaison between training institutions, venues and the Bank to make training reservations. ii. Prepare training sponsorships/reimbursements for staff (for professional courses). iii. Facilitate payments to training service providers. iv. Prepare training material and coordinate with facilitators v. Conduct post-training evaluation to determine the effectiveness of training carried out. vi. On an ongoing basis, suggest, and implement initiatives aimed at increasing effectiveness of training. vii. Draw the annual training budget and Monitor training costs to ensure budget is not exceeded and prepare budget reports to justify expenditures. viii. Liaise with the identified trainers to provide training on a need-basis. 3. **Training Needs Analysis** i. To liaise with Departmental Heads to identify staff skills gaps. 4. Salaries i. Prepare on an annual basis, the budget for staff salaries & allowances. ii. Send instructions to branches to open accounts for new staff. iii. Ensure new employee is recorded in the prepay payroll and retiring employees deleted/inactivated from the prepay-payroll. iv. Conduct and monitor industry pay-rates to ensure competitive remuneration packages are in place. v. Monitoring of compensation to ensure equitable pay rates. vi. Responsible for preparation and payment of monthly staff salaries. vii. Review staff allowance applications and make recommendations for approval. 5. **Staff Management** i. Maintain consistent and cohesive teamwork with colleagues within the department and bank-wide. ii. Participate in developing, individual and team performance objectives, standards and targets with the HoHR. iii. Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to direct reports and staff in HR. iv. Identify development and training needs and consult the HoHR on how to satisfy deficiencies.
