On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Workshop Manager. This position will manage and lead a team of people in allocating workload and managing the day-to-day operations in the workshop. Key Accountabilities: • Responsible for job allocation and job flow in the workshop including job scheduling and labor allocation for day-to-day operations. • Co-ordinate resources, (operational and human) schedules, and activities to effectively manage jobs and ensure supplies are ordered for each job. • Oversees the administrative requirements of the Workshop, including warranty obligations, inspection records, manual updates, equipment defect reports, maintenance services, policies, procedures, and practices • Ensures that the overhauls, preventative maintenance, and repair of the vehicle fleet and other equipment are maintained and/or repaired in a cost-effective manner, with consideration given to quality and longer duration of equipment. • Assist with quoting, project management, materials purchasing, and quality checks. • Manage inward goods, checking quantities, dispatching goods, and receipting invoices • Act as a technical adviser on key projects and other areas of the business as requested. • Identify staff that requires ongoing training and implement training opportunities to ensure their skills are improved. Work with apprentices and semi-skilled staff to role model appropriate technical skills. • Promote a Health and Safety culture within the business. Job Requirements • At least 8 years of experience in the same or similar role in the construction industry. Also, must have additional training in both electrical and mechanical fields in any heavy industry. • Must have a working knowledge of supervisory and leadership principles, with the ability to influence other team members in a positive way and lead a department of individuals. • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel • Quality and productivity focussed
